Thanks also to those who helped prepare and serve food. I know it’s a lot of work to plan, coordinate, prepare, and serve food for over 30 people, but you all did so with servants’ hearts. I know I can speak for the Singing Men of West Texas when I say your work is much appreciated!
When we come together and lift up our voices to sing praises to God, it is a joyous celebration of our common belief and hope in Jesus Christ. There is little that is more encouraging to the Christian than to come together with united hearts for an occasion like that. I think everyone present would agree that it was indeed a time of worship.
But, have you considered that the work of coordinating, planning, serving, and cleaning up after the meal can be every bit as much an act of worship? While it may not include hymns or prayers, it involves humbling oneself and giving of time, talents, and resources to love other people. God tells us in Matthew 25:40 “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” When you love and serve God’s children, you are honoring Him and worshiping Him.
I enjoy worshiping with you all—through music and through service.
