It’s fun to have something to look forward to in anticipation. But I find myself sometimes missing what is going on at the present because I’m too focused upon the future. I can appreciate the warmer weather now when I can go outside without a jacket. I should appreciate the days when Grace is so small and she wants my attention so often. I can also appreciate the quiet, simple times Kim and I had this week without busy plans that accompany the holidays. How about you? Are you missing out on anything now because you’re spending time wishing for the future?
Ephesians 5:16 tells us that we should be “making the most of every opportunity”. This tells me that God has something for me today. He’s not just placed me here to long for things in the future, but to be of use to him now! He has something for me to appreciate when and where I am at this moment. Let us work together at recognizing what God has for us in the present and taking each day as it comes.
Proud to be partnering with you in Christ,
