After the time of business, we shared a great meal together. This, to me, was probably the best part. Not because of the soup we shared (though this was great—thanks to the cooks at FBC Stamford!), but because of the connections that were made. All across the room, people were being reunited with friends they hadn’t seen in years and new friendships were being formed. People were talking with each other about what their churches were doing and inviting each other to be a part. Lunch gatherings were planned, and seeds of future ministry opportunities were planted. This is the core of what the association is about!
After supper, we gathered for a time of worship, led by the Singing Women of West Texas. Their voices blended together as they lifted up praises to the Lord, and it was a joyous time. Jonathan Smith brought us an encouraging and challenging message to remind us that the church’s mission is to reach out to those who don’t know God.
All in all, this time showed us that God’s people still see the value and joy of coming together as one. Stay tuned for future events!
