Let's start at the very beginning
September 19, 1909: Cross Roads Baptist Church was organized in the Cross Roads School House
January 1, 1910: Brother A. D. Leach was called as the first pastor of Cross Roads
August 18, 1910: Cross Roads was admitted to the Fisher County Baptist Association
1925: Cross Roads School House consolidates with Rotan Independent School District and deeded the building to the church. It has been a place of worship ever since!
January 2, 1927: Dedication of the old church building and ceremonial burning of the note
May 1948: Cross Roads started building the new Auditorium
August 1, 1948: The first service in the new Auditorium is held
January 6, 1960: Cross Roads purchased a parsonage and moved it onto the grounds of the church where it stands today
1980: The new Fellowship Hall is completed, most of the work having been completed by the men of the church
1980's: The new lighted steeple was erected in memory of Roy Kingsfield, a member of Cross Roads from 1916 until his death.
