Notice I didn’t ask “Are you helping?”, but “HOW are you helping?” Vacation Bible School is a big deal, and it takes the whole church to put it on. While the main leadership roles are taken care of, we always can use helpers. Can you help hand out snacks? Can you help walk children from one room to another? Can you lend a hand with crafts? Can you drive a van to help get kids here and back home? Even if all you can do is come, open the door, and smile at the children who will be here, that can make an impact.
Last week, you promised, as part of our congregation, to pray for and help teach and set godly examples for our kids at Cross Roads. While we were talking that day specifically about Hayes and Grace, it really applies to all of the young lives that walk through the doors of our church building. They are looking to you as an example of how to be a Christian. Some of the children coming might not have many good influences in their life, and you could make a difference.
All of us should be praying for the week—for the children coming, for the lessons they will hear, and for the stamina of the workers! Even if you have schedule conflicts or health reasons you cannot physically help with the kids, your prayers are needed!
