To see you all serve in the many ways you do does a great job of reflecting the love of Christ to people around you. Beyond the ways you all serve directly at Cross Roads, I know many of you volunteer with ministries around town from the Food Pantry or Food Bank to the Clothes Closet or the Country Store—and much more. Even more of you are active in the ministry of checking up on people and caring for the elderly in our community. This is exactly the type of thing God’s people should be all about!
As we come the heart of the Easter season, I pray that we are all energized by remembering the perfect act of service and sacrifice that Jesus did for us. Our thankfulness for what Jesus did should continue to spur us on towards loving and serving others. When we serve others in these practical ways you all are so good at, it is the perfect opportunity to also verbalize the reason we do so—because Jesus first loved us, we now love each other. When people see our acts of love, they are more receptive to hear the greatest story of love, and hopefully turn their hearts over to the One who loves all of us unconditionally.
