What? Isn’t that what most people do at Sunday night church?
Oh, you need the rest of the story? I suppose that would be helpful. The kids and teenagers did go outside and play a game where they tossed Jell-O brains back and forth, but it had a point. It showed us that our REAL brains, much like the Jell-O brains are fragile. We need to not only protect our brains physically by wearing helmets when doing dangerous things, but also spiritually by considering the types of things we put into our brains and the types of people we spend our time with.
This is a lesson we hope our children and grandchildren learn, but it's something we need to continue to learn ourselves, even as we get older. What is influencing you the most these days? Is it the 5:00 news? Is it your Facebook feed? Is it the gossip around town? Is it the latest television drama? Or is it God’s Word and the fellowship of Christ-following people?
Our brains are always being formed and shaped by what we put into them, so let’s continue to be aware of exactly what that is. That way, we can allow God to shape our hearts and minds in the way He sees fit...not the way society around us will accidentally shape us.
