It’s become almost a trite saying among Christians to say, “No matter who is president, Jesus is still King”, but this is the truth to which we must hold. The answer to our world’s problems will not be found in any politician or governmental system. The Bible tells us this, and history has proven it true, time and time again. Some of the greatest atrocities in human history happened when there was supposedly Christian leadership. That’s clearly not where the answers lie.
To say that Jesus is still King means that each of us, in our own lives and interactions with people, will place ourselves in his hands and allow him to work through us. When we do so, we will exhibit his characteristics—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Regardless of how anyone else is acting, it is up to each of us to submit ourselves to Christ daily so he can bring these fruits forth in our lives. THIS is what will draw people to Christ, not any governmental leader or program.
Politicians, countries, and even the world itself will all come and go. What would happen if we put more energy into building the eternal kingdom than we do arguing about this temporary one?
Proud to be partnering with you in Christ,
