Cross Roads will have a booth with a game and candy. If you can supply some of the candy, please get it to Julie Gruben! But just as important as donating candy, we’d love to see you out there at the festival. As kids are playing our game, we have a perfect opportunity to talk to the parents that are accompanying them. We can invite them to church, tell them about Jesus, or at least be friendly and welcoming, leaving them with a positive impression of Cross Roads, and more importantly, Jesus.
One thing I’ve noticed since moving to Rotan is that the majority of people are home-grown natives to the area. That means that most of the people here know each other and know about the things going on. But a majority does not equal everyone. There are a number of new families in our community that do not know everyone (or might in fact know almost no one!), and they may not be aware of Cross Roads and what we can offer for their family. This is the perfect, low-pressure opportunity to get to know them and help them connect with a great church family.
Keep an eye out for the new people in the community, whether at the Fall Festival or in your daily life. Consider that they may not know many people and may not have a church home. A new community can be intimidating, so let’s go out of our way to be a welcoming people!
