Think back at all that has happened since last August. We’ve (mostly) navigated through a pandemic, worn masks, and suspended Sunday School. Now we’re back to meeting more or less normally, getting together for fellowships, and hosting funeral luncheons.
For me and my family, there’s been a lot going on as well. Kim and I moved from the big city out to the country (and we’re very glad we did!), but it was a big transition. Just a couple months later, it was no longer just the two of us, as we welcomed Grace to the world. People were not exaggerating when they said that having a baby changes your life quite dramatically!
I like to take times like this to look back and recognize God’s hand all along the way. Many times it’s difficult to see what God is doing presently, but as the present turns to the past, if often becomes more clear how he was working. Let us all be thankful for how God has led us through a challenging year.
I also think it’s a good time to look forward to what God might have for the next year. I anticipate opportunities to reach out into our community, ways to influence our new batch of teenagers, and great times of worship and fellowship together. Let’s pray that God will lead us every step of the way!
