Celebrating Christmas is wonderful, but without Easter, Christmas wouldn’t have much meaning. If Jesus hadn’t died on the cross and rose again, a child born in Bethlehem would have been little more than an interesting footnote in history. Thankfully, Jesus DID die for us, and he DID rise again. For these reasons, I really believe that Easter should be the central time for the life of a believer. It is on the cross that our sin debt was paid, and it is because of the empty tomb that we can have eternal life!
Let me encourage you to find ways to keep Easter central in your life. The world might treat it as a second class holiday, but as Christ followers, let us proclaim it as a celebration of the pivotal event in history! Make it a priority to join with us each Sunday to rekindle our hearts in recognition and appreciation for our Savior, and to invite others to do the same with us.
