Maybe you’ve experienced these types of things, too. Perhaps you have a new job that you like much better than the previous one, but you find yourself missing a co-worker or a particular aspect of the old job. Or you could be enjoying the quiet of an empty nest at home while sometimes missing your children being there.
For me, I’m enjoying being your pastor and am very much convinced that this is where God has called me, but I do occasionally miss some aspects of being a worship leader. To help with this, I recently had the opportunity to meet up with the Singing Men of West Texas. It’s a group of church musicians that come together once a month to sing as a men’s choir and lead a worship concert. It was such a joy to sing and fellowship with these men in Odessa last week. Hopefully, we’ll have a concert closer before long and you can come worship with us!
As God moves you from one chapter of life to the next, there’s nothing wrong with missing part of your old life. As we learn to “find the balance” this month, how can you both appreciate where God has led you in the past while being open and ready to what new things he is doing in this new chapter? It’s a good thing for us all to consider and pray about. God is good and has purpose in all of our seasons!
